Cautionary Advice:
We try and screen our Lady Members as good as we can, most of our Members come recommended by Friends of our Families or Friends of Friends.
Every country in the world has a small minority of people who are dishonest. The internet offers new opportunities for criminals and dishonest individuals to extort money from unsuspecting individuals. In order to avoid any problems it is better to be overly cautious.
Here are some tips and suggestions:-

NEVER send Cash or expensive Gifts to anyone who you met online, but have not yet met in person.

Common examples of scams include requests for money for payments for Operations, sick Child, Mother, Father, Aunt, Uncle etc. Or School Fees, School Books, Medication etc.

If you ever consider assisting someone in another country who you met online to visit you,
then first check their visa eligibility with your Immigration department.

NEVER send cash for someone from another country to purchase a plane ticket, pay for visa or legal costs or anything else associated with a visit to you. If you feel you must assist this person then always buy the ticket yourself directly on the behalf of the visitor and check the ticket can be refunded in case you need to cancel it. Similarly, if you must pay for visa fees, annulment fees or other cost

Some people in developing countries may ask for small amounts of money to pay for internet access or phone costs for communicating with you. We recommend never sending money to anyone who you have not yet met in person.

Be suspicious of people who appear to be overly persistent
or aggressive in their requests for money.

Avoiding problems

  • Ask a lot of questions when communicating and be alert for inconsistencies or requests for money.
  • Make notes if you are suspicious of anything.
  • If one of our Ladies asks you for money, use common sense and then report the situation to us by sending a mail to latinaffairs@yahoo.com
  • Although we take steps to eliminate any suspect members, it is not possible to be 100% sure that all members will be honest and truthful in their dealings with other members.
  • NEVER send money to anyone who you met online, but have not yet met in person
